Tech Lead/Sr. Tech Lead - Front End System Engineering 
Job responsibilities:

•  An understanding of the fundamentals of Systems Engineering methodologies around Design, Verification, Validation, Qualification and Acceptance.

•  Experience deriving system capabilities, functionalities and behaviours, ideally using MBSE

• approaches executed with SysML.

• IBM DOORS / Siemens Polarion or an equivalent requirements management tool.

• Enterprise Architect / Capella / Rhapsody or similar MBSE tool.

• MATLAB / Simulink or an equivalent simulation/modelling tool (Desirable).

• Proven experience in product design in an engineering or research environment.

Typical Tasks include:

• Support the central engineering team in delivery of the processes, approaches and guidance material.

•  Building a base of MBSE competency and resources.

• Identify MBSE tools required to support delivery.

• Identify development and training needs for MBSE on the project.

• Supporting system architecture & MBSE training courses, and the day-to-day learning of

• MBSE competency.

•  Communicating about MBSE implementation, including sharing progress and lessons

• learnt, with stakeholders at all levels within Thales UK and wider Thales Group.

• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to create a shared vision and common goals for

• the MBSE approach and implement an governance framework where there are no security

• or customer constraints, so that project participation permits

• Contributing to and writing Engineering Plans, Technical Specifications, interface

• Documents, Test Plans and Technical Reports.

•  Managing technical requirements flow-down and implementation from customer to

• subsystems.

• Elicit the need for modelling and tailor the modelling approach to fit the needs of the    project and stakeholders

•  Leading the derivation and modelling of the solution architecture using ARCADIA

• Architectural Framework, ideally using MBSE approaches.

• Detailing the design and documenting design decisions and rationale.

• Identifying methods to test and validate the architecture.

• Supporting development and performing of system verification methods to demonstrate

• compliance with the customer’s needs.

• Ensuring that design certification for contract requirements and appropriate legislation,

• including product safety, is performed correctly.

• Supporting engineering reviews and preparing associated technical documentation.
